Copana Partners is an investment firm created to take advantage of international investment opportunities.
Copana has a network of investors, both private and institutional, which rely on us to find and create
investment opportunities for them through our companies and funds. The firm currently focuses on a
range of investments. Copana has a real estate division that invests in development and rehabilitation
projects in Spain. Copana also has a division that helps companies encounter debt and equity financing.
Another division has the exclusive rights to Tootsie Roll products in Spain, Portugal and Morocco.
Tootsie Roll is the largest producer of lollipops in the world. Brands include Tootsie Roll®,
Tootsie Pop®, Charms®, Charms Blow Pops®, Dots®, Junior Mints®, Fluffy Stuff Cotton Candy®,
and a host of other products under the Tootsie Roll umbrella.

Michael Hammond, the founder and CEO of Copana Partners, previously worked as a consultant concentrating
on venture capital, private placement financing, business plan development, and alliances.
Prior to consulting, Mr. Hammond worked on Wall Street as a proprietary investor/trader for a division
of the leading investment bank, Goldman Sachs, Inc. His primary role was to establish and manage major
investment stakes in undervalued and/or growth companies. Additionally, Mr. Hammond has traded on the
actual floors of the New York Stock Exchange, the American Stock Exchange, as well as NASDAQ. Michael
has an undergraduate degree from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, with a
double concentration in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management. The Wharton School (U of Penn) was
recently ranked the number one business school in the United States and is an Ivy League school.
In addition, he has studied at the Instituto Católico de Administración y Dirección de Empresas (ICADE)
in Madrid, Spain.
